USB drives not recognised after installing hal updates

Binary package hint: hal

Someone has mentioned something similar. When I do an update in Feisty, the Hal update stops my usb drives from mounting. This happens when I tried Gutsey. Feisty works great without the update. I am using Ubuntu (gnome)
