I am new to UBUNTU, having got rid of my inbuilt MS VISTA OS, I cannot find an "add Hardware" wizard.

Dear sir, can you tell me what this below means (not a DOS command) and if so , how to enter it and where? I am not at all familiar with UBUNTU, having used it for 10 minutes only once, Bob Koomans, Brisbane Australia.

Sorry. I didn't understand well your question. In ubuntu there is not a add hardware tool. In Ubuntu the hardware is recognize by the kernel without any tool. Thanks

Dear Sir, Okay, got it. So how come the Toshiba inbuilt WLAN did not recognise? I have found Toshiba website downloads, but it does not include LINUX based OS drivers. (I downloaded all XP drivers anyhow, for future use) Bob Koomans, Brisbane.

Sorry for my delay. We must know your hardware. To do it we can use a command line. To learn some about how you can use the ubuntu command line you can see this:

https://help.ubuntu.com/7.04/basic-commands/C/

Now to do the command we need you can be found a terminal at:

Applications > Accessories > Terminal

Now you have a shell open and you can digit in:

lspci -v

return, post the result. After you have done it you can do (in the same terminal):

iwconfig

return, post the result. Thanks
