Bug Description

Binary package hint: hal

I add in gnome-panel "Brightness Applet" V2.17.90 and message "Cannot get laptop panel brightness". Fn+F7 (Down brightness); Fn+F8(Up brightness) work fine.

This patch looks a bit too broad; the person who initially added it certainly had good reasons for it; so it seem the rules should be more specific here?

There hasn't been any recent activity in this bug report. Just curious if this is still and issue in the latest Hardy Alpha, hal version 0.5.10-5ubuntu8. Thanks.
