Hi santiago-roland,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I suspect this is a mixup in keyboard key code propagation or something.

same problem with xubuntu on hp compaq presario a900
boot with touchpad disabled
open up a terminal session
press enable touchpad button
hundreds of ======================================'s will appear

workaround wait a bit press esc + return + return
touchpad button then works normally
