T60p display brightness should be handled in hardware.

Bug #132887 reported by Joel Ebel on 2007-08-16
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
hal-info (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: hal-info

A number of thinkpad laptops have hardware controlled display brightness as indicated in the file 10-laptop-panel-hardware.fdi. The "ThinkPad T60p" should be added to this list as it is similarly hardware controlled. Prior to the switch to the hal-info package this was more generally described as any IBM ThinkPad, an any LENOVO ThinkPad X Z or T series. As of the inclusion of the hal-info package, this is much more restrictive, and unfortunately leaves out my T60p. This should probably be filed upstream as well since this will affect a number of thinkpads.

a patch with 3 lignes added for T60p:
<match key="/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer:system.hardware.version" string="T60p">
          <merge key="laptop_panel.brightness_in_hardware" type="bool">true</merge>
