gzip, gunzip and zgrep manpages are missing

Binary package hint: gzip

I'm running current intrepid, and it seems like the manpages for gzip, gunzip and zgrep are missing. The info page does exist. The following "man pages" are in the package, but are dangling symlinks:

/usr/share/man/man1/uncompress.1.gz
/usr/share/man/man1/zegrep.1.gz
/usr/share/man/man1/zfgrep.1.gz

The gzip package I use has version 1.3.12-6ubuntu1

The manual page is available in the hardy package (1.3.12-3.2).

Confirmed, I too get the result

"No manual entry for gzip
See 'man 7 undocumented' for help when manual pages are not available."

I've rebuilt the intrepid package to see what's going wrong, and it seems like the man pages get installed in build/debian/gzip/usr/share/man/man1/ , instead of debian/gzip/usr/share/man/man1/.

Manpages get included in the package again after applying the attached rules.diff to debian/rules.

I just wonder why that doesn't seem to affect Debian. debian/rules is clearly wrong, and yet the current sid .debs do have the manpages. Hmm.
