Cannot add Facebook, get stuck on verifying

When I try to add my Facebook account, Gwibber gets stuck on "verifying...". When I stop it, no Facebook entry was created. On my third try the Facebook account was created, but it still requires authorisation. When I click on "Authorise" it gets stuck on "veryifying..." again. Gwibber does not hang or become unresponsive and I can close the window at any time.

Other than that I'm experiencing no issues. Gwibber did accepted my Twitter account and appears to be downloading tweets on this account.

With all the recent updates to Gwibber, the behaviour has changed
slightly. The Facebook account is now listed under account, but with no
authorisation. When I click on Authorise, I get the login screen
followed by the device identification screen. Both screens are
completed successfully, but then goes back straight to the account list
without authorising Facebook, ie. I still get the "Authorise" button for
Facebook. Facebook updates from friend are however listed in Gwibber.

Is there any additional information that I can provide?

I'm experiencing the same behavior. I can authenticate my facebook account and enter the device name, but it keep saying that needs authorization; in my facebook security settings an entry for gwibber is added.

I have found that when looking at my Facebook account, that Gwibber has
been registered. Updates from Gwibber is also shown on Facebook. So
the problem is clear, the Gwibber account setup does not show that the
account has been authorised, even though it has. It only creates the
illusion that it is not working, which would probably confuse users.
