Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwibber

PROBLEM

I get a notification from Identi.ca that there is "No such user" every time I start my computer.

When I start Gwibber, it has a red "No such user" notifier at the top of the window, with buttons to retry and dismiss. If I recall correctly, it continues to tell me this throughout the day at random intervals.

HOW TO REPRODUCE

I am not sure. This problem started after I clicked on a link to an Identi.ca user's name. Perhaps this user did not exist?

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Gwibber won't spam me with notifications that I don't understand, and that are not germane to what I am doing with it.

I am also affected by this bug so I thought it will upload my gwibber.log, here it is. It is not the complete file, I only put the log of the last day in it. You should be able to see the error in the log.
I am using the same gwibber version and I am running natty, too.

I am attaching my log. Here's an example of earlier activity, from before this started I think. This happened a lot back then:

stuartotterson is someone I used to subscribe to. The problems started soon after I clicked through from thornet to another user, and it didn't seem to work. Also, I am not getting notices that this application is not authorized to access my Twitter account or something.

I have this bug, too.

It first happened when, on my Identica TimeLine, I tried to click on a pseudo in someone's dent.

But this person was posting both in Twitter + Identica, the pseudo was a Twitter one and does not exist on Identica.

So at this time I got the notification "No such user" with identica red symbol in Ubuntu, normal.

Problem, since then, each time I start Gwibber, this notification re-appears, as Gwibber tried again to reach this user's in Identica.

I'll post a scrrenshot next time I restart.

For me problem is solved now (Gwibber 3.4.0) : with an identica account, if the user exists on identica, when I click on it, a row with its name is added on the user tab, if I select it I can view the user's timeline.

If the user doesn't exist on identica but on twitter, if I click on it, it still adds a row with the name on user tab, but when I select it, nothing happens.

And no more "no such user" notification, not at the click nor on next startup.

So it seems to be fixed.
