Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwibber

When I have scroll (with mouse or scrollbar) Gwibber jumps the one message to other.
If I try to read one facebook message, with its comments, that is more longer than gwibber window I can't read the final part of that message because Gwibber jumps to next message.

It's a little absurd attach one screenshot of this bug. You'll only see a large message but I attach the screenshot.

The problem is that scrolling in gwibber is not continuous, it scrolls in discrete steps such that the first message within view is exactly at the top of the message area. I personally find it odd to use, as it behaves differently from every other application, but the behaviour described in the bug report is indeed a bug. Gwibber should switch to continuous scrolling (which I believe it had at some point, possibly in lucid?).

It still occurs in gwibber 3.3.2
And the problem is more severe. If a story is at the bottom of the window (cut in own window) and I step to the next page, it jumps to another story (see screen-shots).

This will be fixed when we change the scrolling behaviour, it isn't something we can fix with our current scrolling model. This will require a significant re-factoring of code, which means we can't fix it for 3.4.

I marked this as a duplicate of 828593, which isn't really the same bug but it is the bug we will use for tracking the move to smooth scrolling.
