Thanks for the report, is this still an issue for you with latest Gwibber on Lucid? Please test it and comment back, Thanks in advance!.

I cannot test it anymore. I reinstalled my laptop and installed the AMD64 Ubuntu lucid where Gwibber seems to work just fine. The bug occurred on 32bit version. Unless other people notify the same bug and report/assign it maybe it was just my setup.

Jude Cooks (judecooks) wrote :

This occurred to me directly after an upgrade to beta 1 from 9.10 on 32-bit.

Yes, this same bug is affecting me too.

nopayne (jebcor) wrote :

I had the same problem. It looks like it happens when gwibber can't connect to the keyring service. To fix this, I started the keyring service manually by typing 'gnome-keyring-daemon' in the terminal.

habtool (clive-wagenaar) wrote :

@nopayne That worked for me on Kubuntu Lucid.
(I know gwibber is for gnome, but wanted to play with it kde too :) )

Farley Lai (farleylai) wrote :

After upgrading to the final release of lucid, this same problem annoys me.

Ben (ben-lemire) wrote :

nopayne's workaround in #8 works for me. So this should be fixable, right?

Haggai Eran (haggai-eran) wrote :

I noticed this problem too, but only when my user is in the nopasswdlogin group. Also, seahorse isn't able to connect to gnome-keyring-daemon when using the passwordless login.

Gp2mv3 (nicolascognaux) wrote :

I've made a short script to "resolve" this problem:
It start a gnome-keyring before launching gwibber or the command in param.
You can use it like that: ./ gwibber

This issue should not happen in latest releases included in Maverick, please could someone try to reproduce this issue in latest version included in Maverick? Thanks.
