Bug Description

I added my Facebook account to Gwibber but it doesn't show any notification, it doesn't do anything at all. Now I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, but few months back I had 11.10 and Gwibber worked fine.

I am seeing the same problem on my system. I notice there are two other bugs on this (Bug #757419 and Bug #781783), but I am actually seeing a different error (2013-01-15 17:13:04,722 - Dispatcher Thread-1177 : ERROR - <facebook:receive> Operation failed) in gwibber.log (attached)

Can you see if you have the same error in your ~/.cache/gwibber/gwibber.log file? If so, then I'll mark this as the same issue I'm having.

I checked the log file but didn't find any ERROR message. And my ~/.cache/gwibber/gwibber.log looks like this.

Hmm, that is a different issue then. For your issue, what happens when you remove and re-add your facebook account?

Nothing happens when I try to add same account twice, and also when I remove the existing account.

When I add a new account, it asks me to log into my facebook id, and when I do that and hit 'authorize' nothing happens. I checked with my app centre and found that gwibber is active, but it doesn't do anything.

Can you attach your latest gwibber.log in case that sheds some light on the problem?
