Bug Description

Hi,

I installed MATE for Ubuntu and I noticed that it is impossible to change the default background of the messages in Gwibber. As a result, it keeps GNOME default theme and black text on dark background is barely noticeable.

A picture of the problem is here: http://www.mirari.fr/8ynE

My Ubuntu version: 12.04 LTS AMD64

It doesn't look like that when using the default Gnome theme, Adwaita. I think it's a problem of your GTK theme (what's that, by the way? :)

Anyway, maybe Gwibber could do a better job while theming the stream.

My GTK theme is a look&feel of MacOS 8.
I installed MATE because it was not compatible with GNOME 3.
