Bug Description

Main problem: Samba gvfs mounts mounted by nautilus was not found in ~/.gvfs

When running strace -ft /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd -r

[pid 13211] 00:24:39 execve("/usr/lib/gvfs//gvfs-fuse-daemon", ["/usr/lib/gvfs//gvfs-fuse-daemon", "/home/joni/.gvfs"], [/* 67 vars */]) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

So file /usr/lib/gvfs//gvfs-fuse-daemon was missing. Installed gvfs-fuse package fixed all problems described above.

I think the problem is that I could have nautilus connecting to samba share while gvfs-fuse package wasn't installed?

Thank you for your bug report, I guess you meant "gvfs" rather than -dbg (the debug symbols)? No, that's not a good idea, gvfs-fuse is an issue on some system and not strictly needed, we do install it by default but let users free to uninstall it. Note that you don't need fuse to access smb shares, gvfsd-smb (the samba backend) is used for those and that one is installed with gvfs
