Bug Description

Well it doesn't mount .iso's to the desktop ( or anywhere else

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

it works fine there but gvfs-archive and libarchive don't support all formats, which one do you use?

This came from someone complaining that brasero created .iso's, when extracted with file-roller were still adding ;1 to filename
So I simply took a file I had on the desktop and created a small iso with brasero (data
This iso mounts fine in 11.04 w/ archive mounter, in 11.10 nothing happens, no errors ect.
Will attach
Even though this install is from the 09/15 will be doing a fresh one later this week, will d. check there

To add - I had/have no reason to want to mount this type iso, just happened to click on the 'mount..' option when checking out & noticed nothing happened

I also thought that this bug affects me but now I have realised that archive mount does work in Ubuntu 11.10 for me; there just isn't much visible feedback.

When I right-click on an .iso file in Nautilus (Ubuntu 11.10), there is no visibly obvious feedback but now scroll down the Places sidepanel to the Network section. My iso is now mounted there.

In Ubuntu 11.04 I it mounted it under the Device section which is at the top and so more visible.

Does this solve the bug reporter's problem?

Thank you, Chris; I was desperate that this feature had disappeared. For weeks I had been fiddling with it, and I should never have had the idea to look in the mount section of Nautilus. You are right, there it is. Will need some time to get used to it... (Before the mounted archives had opened in a new window.)

I am not the original bug reporter but I was "affected" and only today discovered this bug report.

It's a pleasure - I'm glad my comment was helpful to someone.
It would be nice if some visible feedback was restored when mounting.
