Binary package hint: gvfs
When I attach USB Mass Storage devices, the don't get automounted. I can mount them fine with e.g. Palimpsest. This report is generated with the ubuntu-bug utility as requested in Bug 429257. My specific device in this case is a Garmin GPSmap 60Cx in Mass Storage mode.

Can you confirm that you are running GNOME? Does this happen with other USB storage devices (like USB sticks) as well?
devkit-disks looks fine. Can you please do this:
* Disconnect the garmin
* Open a Terminal and do "gvfs-mount -oi"
* Connect the garmin, wait some 10 seconds
* Press Control-C, and copy&paste the output here.
* Copy & paste the output of "mount".
