for some URLs opening a link in the terminal says, 'operator not supported'

Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-terminal
Opening some links with right-click -> Open Link in gnome-terminal causes this popup, with "Could not open the address .... operation not supported"
Here's the extra details, something to do with gconf keys:
Bad key or directory name: "/desktop/
Here is my /desktop/
command: 'firefox %s',
enabled: True,
needs_terminal: False
But the weird and important thing is that I've only encountered this bug with one URL so far.

I can reproduce this by copying above URL into gnome-terminal
