Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-vfs-obexftp

If i choose "Browse Device" with the Bluetooth Icon a nautilus window opens with the adress "obex://mobilephoneid".

In that window i can browse the mobile phone an move files to my Desktop.

But when i try to move files to that window it will start to transfer and then comes an Error Windows which says that the Backend dont support this action.

I upgradet from 7.10 to 8.04 and with 7.10 it worked fine.

Hope this is understandable.

Regards Martin

obex functionality is now provided by obex-data-server. Does transferring new files or removing existing files work? I remember getting error when trying to move/rename existing files as well.

Hi, this does not work to. But i can use "Send File..." to send a single File which have to get an ack on the phone.

Moving Files in the Phone Window in any kind does still not work.

I don't know if this bug has been resolved. But I have some notes. About three weeks ago I copied files to SD card into mobile phone (Nokia E71) via obex (described above) and it was all right. I copied circa 600MB. Today I wanted to do the same and result was "Operation not supported".
Was it an update three weeks ago in Interpid?

Hello,

unfortunatelly this bug still exists - at least on 8.04. I do all the updates so my system is always up-to-date.

This is the only bug in 8.04 which is really annoying for me and I hope that it gets solved soon...

I also have this problem. I can create and delete folders and navigate fine, but cannot create or copy/move or rename files on or to my phone.

I just got the same error message today on 12.04, so I guess the bug is still not solved after more than four years :(
