Bug Description

Similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/196991

I have Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04b + all updates

I've noticed that file transfer operations over ftp, http, smb by any application (nautilus, firefox, wget) cause memory leak.

In result process `nautilus' uses 100% of CPU and a huge amount of Memory some time after start of downloading according to System Monitor. It is independently of application that was used to initiate the downloading process.

The amount of memory used by process `nautilus' may reach 800-900 MiB, then whole the system slows down and even freezes.

Thanks for your bug report. Could you try to get a valgrind log for the crash (you can follow the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind)?
