Ubuntu Hardy beta 6 updated to 3/18/08, is unable to use a floppy drive at all.
When I try to use the floppy drive from the "Places" menu I receive this error.
Unable to scan drive for media changes
Cannot invoke CheckForMedia on HAL: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "CheckForMedia" with signature "" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Storage.Removable" doesn't exist
If I try and use the floppy drive from "Computer" I receive this error.
Unable To Mount Location
No media in the drive
The floppy drive and the disk I am testing with are in perfect working order. Something else I have noticed is that the icon for the floppy drive is larger than it should be in the file browser.
I reported this bug once before and it had been moved around. The bug is still present and this drive has worked fine in previous versions of Ubuntu. I have resubmitted this bug because I felt that the problem needs looked at and fixed before the final release of Hardy. Previously my bug report was associated with a CD-ROM issue and seems to have been forgotten.
