video playback problems started recently ubuntu 14.04 firefox and chromium browser audio and video out of sync . Videos now unplayable on facebook with restrictive content message on all states watch on Youtube instead. Happens with flash and with flash disabled and HTML5 playback. Same playback errors on Youtube.

System was working fine. Started receiving messages that my flash was out of date on firefox (it was not I found out) after attempting updates. Firefox was disabling flash plugin because of security issues. Problems seemed to get worse when trying to update adobe flash. Recently found out there will be no more updates for Ubntu and firefox. Don't understand how HTML5 playback would also be affected. My dual boot system plays videos fine when using windows xp and firefox. So I can't see any sudden hardware/firmware issues with graphics card. I know this is a primitve report but I am far from a guru with Linux issues.
