I'm not n expert on guvcview ;-) but I thought I can give it a go and I've tried to repeat it, set locale to Vietnamese (vi_VN.UTF-8), save an image to a directory with Vietnamese name and file name but guvcview didn't crash.

Hung Tran, could you attach your ~/.guvcviewrc and perhaps default.gpfl as well please?
I couldn't see anything interesting in backtrace from coredump so it would be good if you could install strace and run from a terminal:

strace /usr/bin/guvcview > guvcview_vn_VI.strace 2>&1

and of course attach guvcview_vn_VI.strace file to the bug report.

In terms of the bug report itself, it looked like apport/python3 couldn't set LC_TIME properly.
What exactly you have your locale set to, it's not UTF8 is it? Could you past output of `locale` run from a terminal please?

Hi pawciobiel

This is the result of locale command:

LANG=vi_VN
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="vi_VN"
LC_NUMERIC="vi_VN"
LC_TIME="vi_VN"
LC_COLLATE="vi_VN"
LC_MONETARY="vi_VN"
LC_MESSAGES="vi_VN"
LC_PAPER="vi_VN"
LC_NAME="vi_VN"
LC_ADDRESS="vi_VN"
LC_TELEPHONE="vi_VN"
LC_MEASUREMENT="vi_VN"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="vi_VN"
LC_ALL=

I also attach the files you asked, but I don't know where default.gpfl is, I tried to search for it but didn't find.

Only crashes if the selected image format is JPG. Doesn't crash if the selected image format is RAW, PNG, or BMP.
