Bug Description

On updated Ubuntu 10.04.

Epson PX-A620 multifunction inkjet printer is listed as "Status=Good" in http://www.sane-project.org/lists/sane-backends-external.html , but I cannot manage to make it work. (scanner is ok, but not printer).

lsusb gives me : ID 04b8:082f Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus DX4050

When I connect the printer, Ubuntu searches a driver, but does not find. The closest I can find manually is Epson PX-A650, but it does not work.

I did not find the A620 driver in http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/spc/DL1.do

Google tells me that EPSON STYLUS CX4000/DX4000/DX4050/CX3900 are very similar or even names used by Epson in other countries for this printer.
Any luck with gutenprint or avasys drivers for these models?

OMG ! it works perfectly with the DX4000 gutenprint driver (on Ubuntu 10.10) ! Thanks a lot!

Now for other Epson PX-A620 users, I think it would be a good idea to make Ubuntu select this driver by default :)

YannUbuntu,
Can you file a feature request mentioning that the DX4000 driver works in the upstream gutenprint feature tracker: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=1537&atid=351537 and add a bug watch/link here.
This will fix the problem for other PX-A620 users in future Ubuntu and other Linux versions.
