Bug Description
Hi,
Grayscale printing to a Canon Pixma iP4200 isn't working for me in Ubuntu 12.04. The result is a mostly blank page with either a row of dots near the top, or a cluster of dots further down the page (printing the same page in colour works fine).
The bug appears to be specific to gutenprint 5.2.8-pre1 as I have been able to work around this issue in two different ways:
1. Manually install the 5.0.1 driver from http://
2. Build the 5.2.8 driver from http://
Obviously neither of these are ideal.
/var/log/error_log with the log level set to warn is:
E [06/Mar/
W [06/Mar/
W [06/Mar/
W [06/Mar/
E [07/Mar/
I changed the log level to debug, but couldn't find anything useful. Please let me know if you'd also like the debug logging (much larger file).
Is there a set of steps to officially install gutenprint 5.2.8 or 5.2.9 in Ubuntu 12.04?
Thanks very much,
Alistair
