Bug Description

Binary package hint: python2.5

Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm of any help here, but I going to describe to my best knowledge what happened. I installed Kubuntu 8.04 RC (with KDE 3) updated it and installed some program packages of interest. I believe python was a dependency for one of them, but i could be wrong. When I started the computer today everything started normal, got the blue KDE login screen, logged in and all of the sudden the screen changed and i am in GNOME desktop environment. At least I believe so,brown background picture with yellow/orange/red ubuntu symbol on it, and a task bar on top and bottom of the screen. During the loading of the desktop the error report appeared about python being crashed. It asked me to send a report to you, and i clicked send without taking a closer look to the error message, so I can't provide to much detail. But it probably could have to do with the accidental switch from KDE to GNOME?!

sincerely,

stm1984

The ProcCmdline in the report failed on a file from this package so I guess it belongs there.
