Size of guake window changes shortly after pressing F12

Bug Description
When I press F12 to show the guake window, there is a gap between the bottom of the guake window and the bottom of the screen. Then, after maybe 100 ms, the height of the guake window increases and the gap between the bottom of the guake window and the bottom of the screen vanishes.
This behaviour creates an irritating, noticeable flickering of the guake window.
I am using Guake 0.4.4 on Ubuntu 13.10.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect 1260416
and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
