Bug Description
Binary package hint: gtwitter
I thought I'd set my account information correctly but when I attempted to post something it failed, complaining that I needed to check my account information. The error message also indicated that I should do this via the preferences button, but I couldn't find one (I suspect it's being hidden by something). Resizing the window had no effect. The status bar did appear to be covering something, but I couldn't get it to go away to check underneath it.
I installed gTwitter from the Add/Remove Programs applet in Jaunty running on a Dell Inspiron 6000 (32-bit), so it's whatever version comes from the Ubuntu repositories.

I can confirm this behaviour in 1.0~beta6-ubuntu3. App at this point is useless to most users.
Settings can be changed by opening gconf-editor and changing the values in Apps>gtwitter.
I have these set correctly (have just logged into twitter with the exact same information) but still get connection refused
