Bug Description

Attached .desktop from in /usr/share/applications.

Had gtodo locked to sidebar in Oneiric. After Precise beta upgrade no icon is visible, not directly in the left panel nor by hitting super key and searching for it.

When opening /usr/share/applications using nautilus the .desktop file of gtodo seems different than all the other ones, namely it does not show an icon(text contents preview instead) and is written as gtodo.desktop(abiword.desktop for example is displayed in nautilus as Abiword and has it's icon, as does any other app).

Checked and gtodo.png exists in /usr/share/pixmaps and nothing seems to be wrong with it.

Reloading the application enabled the icon to be displayed and locked onto the Launcher but the application will only launch from a terminal and will not launch from the Launcher

Found a workaround, if you launch alacarte and create a new entry in office section, for example: GTodo
and you put /usr/bin/gtodo as executable you should be able to see GTodo in launcher and also pin it into the panel.

Resolution, change the last line of the following file:

:~$ cat /usr/share/applications/gtodo.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Name=Todo list
Comment=Todo list tool
Exec=gtodo
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Icon=gtodo.png
Categories=Application;Office;
StartupNotify=true
Encoding=UTF-8X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gtodo

to

Encoding=UTF-8
X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gtodo

Then logout, login, and it will correctly appear in the launcher.
Not sure where to send a patch.
