Bug Description

[Impact]

Unity keyboard shortcuts hint window lists "Dead circumflex" for "Switches window of current applications" under "Switching" , instead of "^" when using german keyboard. This is confusing .

In English, this is properly mapped to "`" so this appears to have lost a translation somewhere. Might be better to map it to "^" in the language pack as the German layout has:

- http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Laptop_Tastatur.jpg

[Test Case]

 * Switching to german keyboard
 * Hold Super key down, until unity shortcuts are seen

[Regression Potential]

 * I dont see any regression potential

[Other Info]

Version affected: 12.04 LTS / unity 5.18.0-0ubuntu1.

While a cosmetic changed, it would be nice to have quantal SRU as well.
Ideally I'd wish to see this fixed in Gtk upstream as well, and not carry this as a distro patch forever.
I do wonder how this got lost in translation though =)

Hi @xnox

* I have filled a bz upstream for this, and awaiting action.

* Proposed patch for quantal attached. Personally, I believe precise (LTS) and raring should be our goal to minimize the patchset/qa effort.

Thanks

unsubscribing sponsors until that's approved upstream, they currently have doubt about the approch and we don't want to SRU something that upstream considers potentially buggy

Why is there no way of configuring the keyboard shortcut for "Switches window of current applications"? Or is there?
