Bug Description
Binary package hint: xmessage
I installed edubuntu 6.06 LTS / alternate (with LVM)
I never came to use the edubuntu side, since X did not come up, and I wanted to use kdm instead of gdm, so it became an Kubuntu installation.
When time came that 6.10 was available, I upgraded my repositories and dist-upgraded.
Again X went black, but after repairing the default desktop is the Edubuntu flavour of Gnome. I still usually log on to KDE or Enlightenment, but time and again I come to use Gnome.
Each of those times, all the applets crash on logging in. It turns out that xmessage also crashes.
There is a bug report that is generated, I hope I can attach it.
Thank you for working on this bug! Even though I do not usually have Gnome on the desktop, I surely hope my report can help it become an ever better environment!
