Bug Description
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
Steps to recreate:
1. Start a new document in oowriter.
2. Open the save dialog with CTRL-S or File->Save.
3. Change folder (e.g. by double-clicking a visible folder).
4. Start typing the name you want to allocate to this file.
As you start typing the filename one would expect it to appear in the Name field of the Save dialog (as it would have had you not changed folder in Step 3.) - however, instead it appears in a strange unlabelled pop-up field (which I assume to be a search field of the current directory). When you have finished typing your filename, and it has not matched any of the existing files in the directory, you press return, and the filename you have typed disappears forever (when the expected behaviour is to save to the new filename you have just typed.)
[Almost certainly an upstream issue, but I can't navigate the labyrinthine OO bug-reporting procedure, so I'll note it here for now.]

Just to clarify, this is an issue of focus. When you select a folder
you switch focus from the Name field to the folders list. I think that
each time the folders list is refreshed (e.g. because you clicked on
and opened a folder), the focus should swtich immediately back to the
Name field, because I don't think the user expects to start typing
into the folders list in a Save dialog - if they want to do that
unusual action, then they can manually switch focus again, by clicking.
