I use Yahoo Chat!
1) Select a username from my Contact List
2) Right click then click on Information
if in the status is an URL like eg: " Ubuntu http://ubuntu.com " seems that empathy freeze like in picture 1 and ask me to force quit (picture 2)
if URL is not in the status works and show

Just logged into empathy and pidgin set my status in pidgin http://www.ubuntu.com then in empathy clicked on my other user ID and clicked on information and then clicked on the link and ubuntu.com opened.

did not hang for me if the user had only web link as status message. If the status message contains some text and the weblink then empathy hangs. I have sent this upstream

Omer Akram so i realise when freeze and not with an URL :'

* "http://ubuntu.com Ubuntu" --> not freeze works
* " Ubuntu http://ubuntu.com" --> freeze

actually its not empathy its a gtk issue
