Ubuntu 9.10, amd64, en_GB.UTF-8
pidgin 1:2.6.4-1ubuntu3~pidgin1.9.10
libgtk2.0-0 2.18.3-1ubuntu2

The problem also occurred with pidgin 1:2.6.2-1ubuntu7 in karmic so I don't think that is the problem. Any more info or other backtraces I can provide, let me know.
