Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnumeric

On loading gnumeric 1.9.9 on up-to-date Karmic 64-bit, no row numbers appear in the leftmost column but column letters appear in the topmost row. The body of the spreadsheet appears completely blank. If information is typed into any cell, the information is not displayed in the main spreadsheet view but can only be seen in the formula bar at the top.

Similarly, when loading an existing spreadsheet, nothing appears in the main spreadsheet view. Cell contents may only be seen in the formula bar when the cell is selected.

I can confirm this issue. Using Xubuntu Karmic, updated as of 2009-07-11, gnumeric will not load or display any data. When loading an existing speadsheet, it will maintain the cell formatting, including row heights, colors, column width. It simply displays nothing. I attempted to load clicking on the .gnumeric files and by opening gnumeric and using "File -> Open".

There are no log entries found for this issue.

It is fixed in the latest libgtk+ 2.17.6

But the last libgtk2.0 in the ubuntu repositories is still 2.17.5 at this time...
