Bug Description

Here gtk tooltips doesn't disappear after a while, as they used to (as far as I remember). This is a pretty annoying behavior, as I have to move the mouse to get rid of it.

yes, the tooltip are still not going away in gutsy for me (or with a way too large timeout).

annoying in almost every gtk app, especially when working with keyboard and the mouse lands in some random location, invoking absurd tooltips that hang indefinitely and obscure the exact part of the screen you would like to see.

IIRC, windows 95 had the tooltip timeout configurable in the registry... 15 years ago.
come on, people!

Upstream issue was closed on 2015-02-16 as "RESOLVED WONTFIX"
due to 14 years passing since issue was first reported to GNOME.

Closing the Papercuts task as no-one is going work on this now.
