The bug described above only affected ppc architecture and has been fixed and is closed.
If you are on x86 you are experiencing a different problem!
Please open a new bug report and provide the information described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems, including your cups error_log and the output of the printingbug info script.
