The fix doesn't work in an up to date Intrepid installation.

Ubuntu 8.10 x86, current as of November 26
Dell Vostro 1510
remote printers on a Samba server (Laserjet 4L, Magicolor 2400W)

Didn't print with Evolution 2.24.1 (message: Too many failed attempts) and Evince 2.24.1 (message: cannot prompt for authorization).

Printing to PDF is possible, also printing from Open Office.
