Gimp 2.8 make check fails

On trying to compile and install GIMP 2.8.2 make check produces an error, i reported to GIMP:

as you can see, they told me do report this Bug to you ;-)

System:

Description: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
Release: 12.04

It is up to date.

Hallo,

this isn't a bug in Gimp.
The problem comes the version of GTK+2, witch comes with Ubuntu.
I linked GIMP 2.8.2 against GTK+2.24.15, witch i installed on the system, and the Gimp's make check showed no errors.

Then I'm afraid Ubuntu has done something evil to their GTK+ again,
I just released 2.8.4 and distcheck succeeded on two different
machines using vanilla GTK+. Please report this in the Ubuntu
subtracker.
