gthumb doesn't display thumbnails correctly on UG 13.10 + Gnome 3.10

Fresh install of UG 13.10 + Gnome 3 Next ppa + Gnome 3 Staging(= Gnome 3.10)

Gthumb 3.0.2 doesn't display thumbnails correctly and makes Gthumb pretty unusable.

See attached screenshots.

Its probably due to some change in gtk+3. Is gthumb even maintained these days?

AFAIK yes, the last version was released in March 2013. And the Git shows
source code changes just few days ago. But weirdly, the gthumb package with
Ubntu is 3.0.2 pretty outdated. Could be interested to upload a more recent
version and see what happens, maybe the issue is already fixed.

On my pro PC, I'm testing right now the last version, released the 3rd of
the last august, so pretty recent. I'm on raring 64. I took it from this
ppa:
https://launchpad.net/~nilarimogard/+archive/test

It seems to work, but it's not the PC I've my images. Tonight I'll try this
same ppa on 13.10.

So yes yes yes, I love this software, I can test new versions. My only
point is I not sure to be able to build it. If you can provide me a build
on 13.10, I'll do, but I also can try to build it by myself....or to use
the raring ppa.

What's the best in your opinion?

You should be able to install that package against a saucy+gnome3-next install

So do that, if it works, I will look into wither uploading to the ppa or perhaps archives (but we a are well past feature freeze now)

gThumb is definitely maintained upstream, but no one is doing the work to package it for debian/ubuntu.

Fedora has the latest release :-)

Confirming the problem description.

I installed that package from the PPA against a saucy+gnome3-next install
Thumbnails work properly now, but the app windows layout is wrong leaving most of the screen estate unused.
I guess it makes sense to repackage it for the gnome3-next PPA

Since I am learning about packaging I'd volunteer.

Tested with the W8 test ppa. I do confirm gThumb 3.2.3 works well with UG
13.10 + Gnome 3.10.

Hi, @Romuald (romu70)! Sorry, maybe a stupid question, but where did you get gThumb 3.2.3? In this W8 ppa (https://launchpad.net/~nilarimogard/+archive/webupd8/+index?batch=75&memo=75&start=75) I can only find packages for Ubuntu until 13.04 (3:3.1.2-0~webupd8~raring2).

This W8 test ppa (comment #7) seems to be deprecated and also does not contain any gThumb package.

Mark bug as fixed since Ubuntu 13.10 has reached end-of-life, and newer gthumb versions are not affected by this bug.
