Bug Description

When viewing a directory pictures, gthumb will randomly show a blank window instead of the image. Reloading the image or refreshing it does not resolve the issue. I say random because if I close gthumb and reopen it, the picture that failed to load previously will be viewable this time. If I keep viewing images, the failure will happen again on another image. I would say about 1 in 10 pictures fail to load. The typical directory has 100-200 jpg files about 2-3MB in size that have been imported from a digital camera.

Two additional bits of information that might be useful.

1. This problem still exists in 13.10
2. Switching to another image and then back again can actually allow the failed image to display correctly. If I switch to an adjacent image in the file list, it will not work but if I switch to an image that is 5 or 6 or more entries away, it will usually display the original image when I select it again. This makes me think it has something to do with the caching and that selecting an entry far enough away will clear the blank image from the cache and cause it to be rendered again.

Could you please file this bug upsteam (in the gnome bugzilla)? It's far more likely to get fixed then.
