Can't rip CDs with gstreamer

Bug Description

If I try to import a CD into Rhythmbox or use Sound Juicer to rip the CD, I cannot get a usable file. The final file will skip around (ie, it will play a few seconds, stop, play the beginning again, stop, go back to where it was for a second, and repeat the cycle) and sound very choppy. If I instead import the track to a wav file, and then go to the command line and use gst-launch with an encoder pipeline, it works fine. I can also use Grip to import cds and it does a great job as well. I have tried all three encoders I have installed (AAC, Ogg, and MP3 using Lame) and they all exhibit a similar disfunction. I tried marking every gstreamer package on my system for reinstallation but it still has the problem. This is with Gutsy and all the latest Gstreamer packages installed.

I can't reproduce this symptom using Sound Juicer in 8.10 or 9.04. Are you still able to reproduce it?
