Movie Player does not play next item in playlist

I have noticed that when I have a play list of two or more items (mkv type videos in my case), it fails to play the next video in line. The next video doesn't start, even though the highlight has jumped to the next video, and the play icon (little triangular shaped symbol) is shown, nothing happens. The only way for me to play that video is to kill the player and launch the video individually...
