This upload should fix the issue:
" gstreamer0.10 (0.10.10-1ubuntu2) edgy; urgency=low
.
* debian/patches/01_fix_gst_init_race_issue.patch:
- backport patch from CVS to fix gst_init() race issue (GNOME: #355499),
fix gnome-settings-daemon randomly refusing to start (Ubuntu: #59217)"
