Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

Totem (2.26.1-0ubuntu5) displays MicroDVD subtitles incorrectly - the timing is wrong. When the same subtitles are converted into SubRip format they are shown as intended (timing is correct). VLC has no problems displaying both formats correctly. Also Totem-xine plays the same subtitles with no problems.

I made a test file to suit the http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Experience_ubuntu.ogg video file (stopped subtitling it at 1:10). When viewing with vlc player or totem-xine the timing is correct but with totem-gstreamer the timing is wrong. As the video file is quite a short one the timing shift is not very different, but with longer files the timing difference grows.

Confirmed using the above example from Aethralis. ~ a .5 second delay on the subs.

Plays fine in vlc.
