Bug Description

Edubuntu Server 7.10 i386
uname -a : Linux myhostname 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
gnome-games version: 1:2.20.0.1-0ubuntu2

I've been using gnometris for a week without problem, but from yesterday it dies about 2 or 3 seconds after starting the game. I opened gnometris from a terminal, and the output was:

myusername@myhostname:~$ gnometris
sh: jackd: not found
*** PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused
sh: jackd: not found
*** PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused

(gnometris:6392): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_event_new_new_segment_full: assertion `start <= stop' failed
sh: jackd: not found
*** PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused

(gnometris:6392): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_event_new_new_segment_full: assertion `start <= stop' failed
sh: jackd: not found
*** PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused

(gnometris:6392): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_event_new_new_segment_full: assertion `start <= stop' failed
Segmentation fault

I removed gnome-games and installed it again (apt-get remove + apt-get install) and it worked for that day, but today I had again the same problem. This time it didn't work the trick.

It seems that it's something related with sound, because if I disable the sound in the settings->preferences of gnometris, it works allright. The problem happened with compizfusion enabled and disabled, so it doesn't seem to be related with that.

This is a bug in GStreamer, which has been reported here:

Upgrading to the latest GStreamer release might resolve the issue.
