Binary package hint: gstm
(this is a feature request)
I use gstm by default on my system and I find a bit annoying that the main window shows up at each system startup. It should be possible to launch gstm with a --tray option so that it starts minimized in the system tray.

I found a patch at the upstream sourceforge page that provides this feature. I attached it to launchpad bug #527564.
