Bug Description

Gstreamer applications normally use two independent software mixers if the attached to pulseaudio. But is should use only one:
application -> _gst-soft-mixer_ -> pulse-soft-mixer -> alsa-hw-mixer

other applications like mplayer or audacious doing it correctly:
mplayer -ao pulse -> pulse-soft-mixer -> alsa-hw-mixer

and only if you force:
mplayer -softvol -ao pulse -> _mplaer-soft-mixer_ -> pulse-soft-mixer -> alsa-hw-mixer

you can reproduce by running pavucontrol and playing some audio/video with totem
so you will see, pavucontrol create wolume controll for totem an you can chane wolume for it, and independently you can change volume on totem too.

This sort of useless option make more latency and more confused users ;)
