Bug Description

The shout2send plugin does not work. If I try to send a file with gstreamer to send to an icecast2 server, like so:

gst-launch filesrc location=audio/boogie_boarder/pizza_hero/Sparks.mp3 ! decodebin ! audioconvert ! lame name=enc ! shout2send mount=stream.mp3 port=8000 password=00tspdmn ip=192.168.2.99

the stream does not play. The icecast2 error.log shows:
[2010-04-24 13:22:15] WARN source/get_next_buffer Disconnecting source due to socket timeout

The bug appears to be in the shout2send plugin that is provided in lucid (10.04). If I replace the plugin (/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstshout2.so) with the libgstshout2.so file from karmic (9.10), then stream plays with no errors (no socket timeout).

This bug is 100% repeatable on my system.

Same bug here, 10.04 Final release, updated.

Works fine replacing /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstshout2.so from 9.10.

Plugin from ppa gstreamer0.10-plugins-good_0.10.24-1~lucid1_i386.deb fixed the issue for me.

Okay... found the proper PPA:

I did add-apt-repository ppa:gstreamer-developers/ppa, but the issue didn't go away, only solved using the karmic libgstshout2.so file.
Also, encoding ogg didn't work either, so it is not a lame/mp3 -> shout2send related issue.

Same here,
could anyone please give a link to the karmic version of "/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstshout2.so" ?

My problem with shout2send is that it apparently sends the wrong password, because the SHOUTcast server will always reject it.

Same problem here as well... this is absurd. Over a year since the bug was opened, and there is not even an importance assigned to it. Can someone link to the 9.10 library so we can actually use Ubuntu for audio/video streaming?

Here is the libgstshout.so file from Karmic that works in versions up to at least 12.04.
Unfortunately I need the x86_64 version to get it to work on a 64-bit machine. Anyone got that file?
