Bug Description

Not all, but a lot of the H264 videos that I have tried fail to play correctly in Totem (and its webplugin).
The top half (or less) of the video usually looks fine, everything below is just stretched. See the attached screenshot for what it looks like, I'm not sure what to call it.

You can also check this yourself by watching a trailer from http://trailers.apple.com, they all seem to have this problem.

I've been going through my video folder to find out exactly what it is that doesn't work, but I've had no luck. It doesn't matter if the container is quicktime, matroska or plain mp4. Same for high and low bitrates, H264 / AVC, ...

(And yes, the video from bug #973014 plays fine)

This is on Ubuntu 13.04, all updates applied, with Intel HD4000 graphics (same result for both SNA and UXA acceleration).

MPlayer and VLC work fine.

Official support for Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" has ended. Does this still occur on Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet"?

I just went through my collection of blu-rays that didn't work.

I can confirm the bug no longer occurs on Vivid with NVidia graphics, but I'm afraid I can no longer test with Intel HD4000 (as in the original bug report).
