Bug Description

After installing 11:10 side by side with windows xp service pack 3, even though the windows XP is listed it will no longer boot, it just hangs on a blank screen. The unbuntu does boot correctly, HELP. I need to recover the use of the windows XP system.

Michael

Have tried booting into windows using Windows recovery disk and then doing a
fixboot
fixmbr

Then reboot and XP does not load.
So I boot to the Ubuntu CD and reinstate Grub. Ubuntu is again running but windows is not.

I have been a developer on both Linux and Windows for over 20 Years and would be willing to work with a Grub developer so this can be fix. I believe the Ubuntu installer should have check for the right conditions and if not found it should have refused to do the install rather than leaving the windows system unusable.
