Bug Description
From when I've installed the 9/9/2011 daily build of Oneiric in a dual-boot setup alongside Natty on my desktop, I could not get grub to display at all for me. During the time when it should be showing, my monitor instead shows a blank screen with an "Input Not Supported" error box (see http://
When I don't do anything, Oneiric continues to boot as normal (with the exception of Plymouth not showing either, as described in Bug #850895). If I hold down the Shift key during boot, I still get the error screen and no grub, but boot won't continue until I press Enter, which suggests to me that grub is still running even if I can't see it.
If this were a single-OS computer like it was before when I was only running Natty, this might not be a huge problem, but it is now that I am dual-booting with Oneiric, and I imagine it would also tick off a lot of people who dual-boot with Windows. I can't get into my Natty install anymore because of this.

Interesting, when I run dpkg -s grub (or grub2), it tells me it's not installed. Maybe I just didn't know the right package.
Anyways, after latest updates (several of which I noticed were for grub), I'm still getting this issue. I'm not so sure now which package is responsible, so here's my grub-pc version:
christopher@Xyz:~$ dpkg -s grub-pc | grep Version
Version: 1.99-12ubuntu5
